The need is ongoing.
Supplies come and go in Haiti. So when shipping lanes from the US are open and accessible to Christopher's Hope upon arrival, supplies are a much needed help that can last for months.
WHY SEND SOMETHING TANGIBLE?
Life is hard in Haiti right now. Gangs and military fighting has blocked the two roads they had to access supplies. For the last year it has been unsafe to ship supplies to them. Jan bought shoes locally for the children's new school year in September. Within 3 days every little Hopester was barefoot again, the shoes had fallen apart and there just isn't a way to get them locally.
The good news is we have found a way to get supplies to them again! We are going to use Amazon and Dollar Days lists to send needed items to Florida where a volunteer named Vi (Viola) will pack them up and get them to a ship that will take them to Haiti for us!
Tennis and Dress Shoes are also needed for ages 3-12 years in both boy and girls. I'm finding it hard to register for those since we don't want them to all look the same! I'll find a few-but if you find shoes at a good price I know the little Hopester's will use them!
